eosDAC is a leading global block producer on the eos.io blockchain. As an evolving decentralized autonomous community, eosDAC is dedicated to producing blocks that serve the EOS community worldwide. eosDAC is developing the necessary tools and smart contracts, sharing them with other EOS communities to facilitate their better operation on the EOS.IO blockchain. The eosDAC tokens are 100% gifted to the EOS and eosDAC communities.
Project History
Born from Dan Larimers concept of Decentralized Autonomous Communities (DAC), developed by Block.one led by Dan Larimer and Brendan Blumer who created the EOS software.
Early reports from Block. One mentioned that the EOS.IO software would usher in the "Age of DACs." They illustrated how DACs could be more transparent, auditable, trustworthy, and inclusive than existing corporations, leading to their competitive edge.
eosDAC shares the vision of how DACs can replace traditional business models. We believe these new models can inspire us to rethink what a company could look like. Blockchain technology not only consumes environmental resources but also introduces new business opportunities to create value and give back to the community. All stakeholders of a DAC will be incentivized to continuously add value, fostering creativity and driving growth.
To realize this vision, DACs need tools that do not yet exist. eosDAC will develop these tools and share them as part of its commitment to open-source software, making them available as a DAC Toolkit for anyone to set up and run a DAC.
The DAC Toolkit is under continuous development and will include core concepts such as membership, voting, trusteeship, and proposals. Any account holding EOSDAC tokens can become a member, entitled to benefits from the DAC, eligible to run for trustee positions, vote for trustees, and submit proposals. Trustees, the decision-makers of the DAC, are elected through continuous voting and accountable to all members. Proposals, once approved (subject to available funds), will be implemented, monitored, and paid for. All proposals will deliver tangible outcomes and benefits to the DAC ecosystem.
The DAC Toolkit must ensure that all the different gears of the DAC machine run smoothly.
Over time, other DAC structures and tools will also be supported. We envision other individuals, organizations, and DACs joining in to build this toolkit. Beyond software, it will include best practices for legal and regulatory guidance tailored to different jurisdictions. This will also include the advocacy research eosDAC is committed to.
eosDAC will continue to provide a ready-to-use software structure for DACs to interact with global legal and financial systems, effectively providing everything needed for new DACs to establish and thrive.
Project Advantages
As an EOS token holder, you own EOS. Voting for EOS block producers is akin to voting on who manages your property. Who manages your property matters greatly.
As a self-governing community, our operations are visible and replicable on the blockchain. If you join as a member, you can submit project plans as work proposals to trustees, and if they approve, you can receive compensation accordingly.
Blockchain technology empowers decentralized autonomous communities with the strength to replace companies, and over time, these communities will foster the concept of decentralized autonomous communities within larger institutions.
Use Cases
EOSDAC tokens allow holders to sign the constitution on the member client and become registered members of eosDAC. The more tokens you hold, the more rights you may gain.
As a member of eosDAC, registered token holders can vote for trustees who represent their interests. Trustees will allocate the DACs revenue by signing multi-signature staff proposals on-chain.
Registered EOSDAC token holders and members may receive airdrops from projects launching their own DAC using the eosDAC DAC Factory.
Registered EOSDAC token holders will be eligible to submit staff proposals, contributing to eosDAC and the EOS ecosystem while earning rewards.
If the elected board of trustees votes in favor, registered EOSDAC token holders may be eligible for profit distribution.
