Hive is a DPOS governance blockchain created through the hard fork of existing Steem code.
Hive is a branch of the Steem blockchain, but it aims to take responsibility and build something better, operating entirely independently from the existing chain. All valid accounts on the Steem blockchain will be airdropped onto Hive.

Project Introduction

Hive is a decentralized content network supported by the Delegated Proof-of-Stake (DPoS) consensus algorithm.
After the Tron Foundation acquired Steem and gained control of the company’s funds in STEEM, which amounted to approximately 80% of the total supply of STEEM, Hive was forked from the Steem blockchain. This fork was in response to the centralization risks posed by the acquisition, as pro-Tron STEEM addresses were blacklisted and would not receive the HIVE token airdrop.
The Decentralized Hive Fund (“DHF”) allows users to propose suggestions, fund these proposals, and vote for their preferred changes. The fund was established so that no single participant could control significant changes alone.
The Hive platform offers many features similar to those of Steem. The platform has two tokens: Hive (“HIVE”) and Hive-Backed Dollars (“HBD”). HIVE is used to unlock various features provided by the platform, while HBD is primarily used as a reward.
