KTON is a derivative token of RING, the native token of the Darwinia Network, known as a pledge token. It is designed to encourage users to make long-term commitment lockups. When users commit to locking RING for a certain period during staking, the system rewards them with a corresponding amount of KTON as compensation for liquidity loss and as an incentive. KTON can also participate in staking on the mainnet to gain influence, thereby participating in governance and earning rewards.

The Darwinia Network, developed based on Substrate, is a cross-chain relay network that connects the Polkadot parachain ecosystem with external heterogeneous chains. It is fully compatible with the EVM virtual machine and focuses on building a future asset interconnection network.
