What is Saga?
Saga is a Layer 1 protocol that enables developers to automatically launch dedicated, parallel, and interoperable chains — "Chainlets" — tailored for different virtual machines, providing infinite scalability for applications.
Saga allows developers to launch Chainlets with a single click through shared security, cutting-edge validator orchestration, and standardized automated CI/CD deployment pipelines across any type of blockchain virtual machine.
In under 2 years, the Saga ecosystem has grown to 350 projects built on its protocol, with 80% being games. Saga has also partnered with Polygon, Avalanche, MarbleX, Com2uS, and Celestia to use Chainlets to automatically scale their infrastructure.
1.1 Project Mission
Sagas mission is to make the next 1,000 gaming and entertainment chains part of the ever-evolving Saga Multiverse.
1.2 Value Proposition
The mass adoption of blockchain is imminent, and developers need infinitely scalable, interoperable, and cost-effective foundational infrastructure to support consumer applications.
Saga enables developers to launch dedicated blockspace on-demand, which can elastically scale according to performance needs, open up rapid bridges to other ecosystems, and be priced at commodity rates. Saga provides the end-to-end infrastructure developers need to build the next generation of applications on the blockchain.
1.3 Project Highlights
All projects based on Saga are part of the Saga Innovators Program, which as of April 1, 2024, includes 350 projects. 80% of these projects are games. Approximately 10% of the projects are NFTs and entertainment, and 10% are DeFi. The full list of innovators can be found here.
Saga has also partnered with the following Layer 1 protocols to use Chainlets to expand their infrastructure:
In March 2024, Saga launched Saga Origins, a new game publishing division dedicated to bringing cutting-edge, premium games to market.
Saga is the first web3 chain to establish a dedicated game publishing division where developers can collaborate to publish their projects.
Saga Origins is committed to providing full-service and collaborative ways to bring games to the global mass market. Traditionally, developers only receive funding when building and launching games. Saga Origins offers additional beneficial support, including influencer collaborations for increased visibility, sponsorship for user acquisition campaigns, community building, and promotional support.
Through its ongoing Play-to-Airdrop campaign, Saga, game studios, and guilds all join forces to organize tournaments where players are rewarded with the highly sought-after $SAGA tokens for participation. Recently in January, Saga completed the groundbreaking Three Kingdoms airdrop event in collaboration with participating partners Avalanche, Polygon, and Solana.
