About the Project

On January 11, 2021, Aragon, the platform for building and running decentralized autonomous organizations (DAOs), acquired Dvote Labs Oü, the company behind the Vocdoni protocol. Dvote Labs aimed to build the most secure and anonymous voting system using decentralized technology. Vocdoni offers governance solutions based on universally verifiable, private, and scalable voting, tailored for organizations from both public and private sectors, including municipalities, public administrations, companies, and membership associations.

Vocdonis technology leverages zk-SNARKs to enable fully anonymous voting, IPFS and libp2p for censorship-resistant data availability and protocol communication, and the second-layer, purpose-built blockchain Vochain for transparent vote tallying. The Vocdoni platform has previously hosted the largest voting procedure ever conducted entirely on the public blockchain of Formniun Cultural, Europes largest cultural association with over 180,000 members.
