Launched in 2016, Waves Decentralized Exchange is a decentralized exchange, and Waves Platform is the ultimate cryptocurrency platform for asset/custom token issuance, transfer, and trading. The projects name is inspired by the recent discovery of gravitational waves, with WAVES representing the gravitational waves that connect the community. The WAVES team aims for mass market adoption and ease of use. We want to be the platform for open-source projects and community projects.

Inspired by the NXT cryptocurrency, WAVES is a brand new platform coded from scratch aiming to be the colored coin platform, just as ETH is for scripting. We are a team of developers and business people involved in the NXT platform. Through our experience and expertise, we hope to provide a reliable and flexible colored coin platform that will focus on crowdfunding, community projects, open source development, and connection with existing payment networks.

Upon release, Waves will offer a fully functional decentralized crowdfunding, community management, and encrypted messaging platform. We will provide a lightweight Chrome plugin for end users, while running full blockchain nodes will operate in a separate software module. The user experience is completely close to centralized trading/banking experiences. Our goal is mass market adoption and ease of use.
